The area is remote with over 14,000 islands and 60,000 miles of shoreline, many of them uninhabited - by humans anyway!
Along the trails and islands in the Lake of the Woods area you can find a variety of wild flowers and berries. Glimpse bear, deer, moose and timber wolves. Bald eagles, falcons, owls, herons, loons, pelicans and pileated woodpeckers are just a few of the 280 species of birds that live in the Lake of the Woods area. Mink, otter and beaver can be seen swimming, playing and dining along the shoreline. Be sure to bring your camera!
