NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT

LANDFILL SITE STUDY

for

Northwest Angle 37A, Naotkamegwanning - Whitefish Bay 32A, Northwest Angle 33A, the Ojibways of Onigaming, and the Township of Sioux Narrows/Nestor Falls

Who?

Golder Associates is working with these communities to complete an Environmental Screening Process. A full and environmentally sound process must include consultations with the public and involve a wide variety of stakeholders.

When?

The study is now underway.

Where?

The study area is shown on the map below.

How?

The Screening Process will follow the requirements of Ontario Regulation 101/07 made under the Environmental Assessment Act for Waste Management Projects.

You can have your say at various times during the course of the study. Public information sessions will be held to get your input on specific project details. These include:

· locating and evaluating sites,

· environmental considerations,

· identifying sensitive habitats and cultural sites,

· mitigation of impacts, and

· the selection of the preferred site.

When the study is completed an Environmental Screening Report will document the planning process, preliminary design work, and consultation process. This report will be available to the public during a 60 day review period. A Public Notice will be posted at that time.
