Nestor Falls Pig Roast & Nestor Falls Softball Tournament

The Nestor Falls Recreation Committee is pleased to present the Annual Nestor Falls Pig Roast, Sunday August 1st! Beer Gardens and canteen open at noon. Cardboard boat races for all ages (build your craft at home and bring to the park by 3:00 pm). Music by Yowza, including \”Name That Tune\”! Come early and enjoy the finals of the inaugural Nestor Falls Slo-pitch Tournament! Dinner will be served at 5:00 pm. Pork roasted on-site, corn on the cob, baked beans, salads and dessert! $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 5-10 years, children 4 & under are free! The Nestor Falls Softball League is pleased to present the First Annual Nestor Falls Softball Tournament, July 30th, 31st & August 1st at Bass Lake Park. Come out and watch our full roster of 9 teams. The tournament will start with two games on Friday night, starting at 5pm. Games start on Sat. at 8am will run all day, then start on Sun. at 9am and will run all day again. We will have canteen on both Sat. and Sun. There will be a social at Larsson\’s on Sat. night with a free taxi service home for patrons. Thanks to everyone who put in a team for the tournament! Good luck everyone!

Triple P Fun Race

The Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls Healthy Living Coalition and the Township of Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls presents: Triple P Fun Race ~ Pedal, Paddle, Pound. Open to all ages, individual or teams of two. Sunday, July 25th, 2010 at Bass Lake Park, Nestor Falls. Registration Fee is $10.00 per individual or $20.00 per team. Deadline to Register is Wednesday, July 21st, 2010. No late entries (waiting list will be maintained, if cancellations should occur). Distances for event (approximate): Run/Walk 5K, Bike 10K, Canoe 5K. Participants must bring own bike, helmet and life jacket. Canoes & paddles will be supplied. We need volunteers (spotters, etc.), if interested, please contact us. Contest Rules

Photos must be taken at a location within the Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls municipal boundary. They do not have to have been taken in the current year.
All entries must be delivered in RAW (high resolution – do not resize to low quality) digital format (.jpg only) via email to wanda@livethelakelife.ca.
The following information must be provided in the body of the email message to which the photo is attached: photographer’s name, phone number, date taken, location taken, subject and suggested caption.
Winning photos will be those that best capture the essence of our Community.
Submissions must be original photography.
Photographic credit will be given to the winning photographers.
Photos should not include trademark or copyrighted images, or protected materials.
All entries shall become the exclusive property of the Township of Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls to be used solely as it determines, including publishing the winning photo in various print publications, on its website(s), or in conjunction with its partner organizations. Winning photographers may not sell or use these images in any way.
There is a limit of three entries per person.
Decisions of the judges are final.
Entering this contest constitutes acceptance of these rules.

*No cash value.

Entry Specifications

1. All entries must be delivered in RAW (high resolution – do not resize to low quality) digital format (.jpg only) via email to wanda@livethelakelife.ca.

2. Photographer’s name, phone number, date taken, location taken, subject and suggested caption should be included for each photo submitted.

3. Photos should showcase the essence of our Community, with a particular focus on our natural surroundings, including scenery, wildlife, activities and lifestyle. Photos may include people, but not as the primary subject (persons should be engaging in a showcase activity, or simply as a secondary subject – portraits are not acceptable for submission and will be automatically disqualified). For clarification, please email wanda@livethelakelife.ca.

4. Photos must be horizontal as the calendar will be horizontally formatted.

5. Entries that do not conform to these specifications will not be considered.

Judging

Entries will be judged by a committee of three Township representatives.

How to Enter

Email your photo(s), each with a clear description, containing the requested information, photographer’s name, phone number, date taken, location taken, subject and suggested caption, to wanda@livethelakelife.ca.

In the subject line of the message, please put ‘Enter me in the 2010 Calendar – Digital Photo Contest’.

DEADLINE TO ENTER: 11:59 P.M. C.S.T., FEBRUARY15, 2010

Entries received after the deadline will not be considered.
